Ocean bottom seismometers (OBS) are instruments that measure seafloor movements and pressure variations created by seismic waves and artificial sources.

The INSU park develops and deploys short-period (4.5-500 Hz) and broad-band (0.004-50 Hz) OBSs for the French scientific community.

These instruments are deployed by the INSU OBS park team: 2-3 members come on board the ship for deployments and recoveries.
